Here at Lux Nova we know self care matters, with both founders suffering in the past with mental health we want to help you look after yourself and why selfcare is important.

Take a bath.

There is nothing more relaxing than taking a hot long bath, set a side half an hour to an hour to pamper yourself. Choose your favourite bath bomb, light a candle, pop on a face mask and enjoy. Let your mind relax and listen to the fizz.

Light a wax melt.

Lighting a wax melt can change the atmosphere of the day, it’s our biggest tie to memory, even ones we have forgotten, remind you of a holiday, a special occasion, or take you back to a time where you were happy. It can also help you create new memories. In lockdown Amanda, Lux Nova’s founder used wax melts to help change the day to evening, strong fruity melts in the day time, changing to relaxing spa like scents in the evening.

Take a walk.

Walking is not only beneficial to your physical health but it’s great for mental health too. It increase blood flow to the brain and body. Immerse yourself in nature or meet up with some friends.

Read a book.

Reading a good book can help you escape your own thoughts and leave the real world behind, it can help reduce stress. Set a side an hour in your day to get comfy, make your favourite drink and just escape, it’s hard to get that escape when we are working long hours, so make sure to set some time a side for you.
